Buiksloterham, on the north bank of the IJ, is a former industrial area that is rapidly transforming into an Amsterdam residential and working district, regarded as Amsterdam's urban development laboratory. With new methods and techniques and innovative architecture.
Nevertheless, the past remains palpable. Cityplot BSH, for example, simulates organic growth, similar to how the inner cities of old towns used to develop.
