Guided Tours Amsterdam

History and Architecture tours Amsterdam

Fascinating guided tours through historic Amsterdam and the internationally renowned contemporary architecture and urban planning of Amsterdam. Highly knowledgeable and enjoyable.

HISTORY. We will walk or cycle through the medieval city and the 17th-century canal belt, a World Heritage Site. Through the stately neighbourhoods of 19th-century Amsterdam-Zuid, with its impressive Amsterdam School architecture. Through the Museum Quarter, with its art nouveau and the major Amsterdam museums such as the Van Gogh, Stedelijk and Rijksmuseum.

ARCHITECTURE. But we will also show you the new Amsterdam. In recent decades, old industrial and harbour districts have been transformed into lively urban neighbourhoods in true Amsterdam style, such as the Houthaven and Buiksloterham on the north bank of the IJ, Amsterdam's urban development laboratory. Or we can take you on a walk through IJburg, an archipelago of nine artificially constructed islands in a large lake on the east side of Amsterdam, created after 2000. It is now home to 30,000 residents.
